Baidu Netdisk sign-up outside China: which phone numbers work

Baidu's sign-up page lists 161 country codes but no EU country. Which numbers work, the Chinese form in English, and what to do when no code arrives.

It depends on your country. Baidu's sign-up page lets you pick a country code, and when we checked it on 31 October 2026 it offered 161 of them. The United States and Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Brazil, Mexico and Australia are on the list. No EU country is: you cannot select a number from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal or Ireland.

A country on the list is no guarantee either, because the text message with the code does not always arrive. And if you only want the files from one share, you can skip the account entirely (see the end of this guide).

What you need

  • A mobile number from a country on Baidu's list that can receive Baidu's text messages. Virtual (VoIP) numbers often do not get the code.
  • A few minutes with a form in Chinese. Every field is translated below.

Sign up step by step

Open Baidu's overseas sign-up page at passport.baidu.com/v2/?reg&overseas=1. The form is in Chinese, but it is short. From top to bottom:

  • Mobile number: click +86 at the left of the first field, choose your country code, then enter your number. If a hint about mainland Chinese numbers appears, it refers to the default +86.
  • User name: the second field.
  • Password: the third field.
  • Verification code: the last field. Click the button on its right to have the code sent, then type the code from the text message.
  • Tick the box under the big blue button to accept Baidu's user agreement and privacy statements, then click the blue button to sign up.

If the code does not arrive

  • Check your phone's spam or filtered-messages folder. Some phones file Baidu's message there.
  • Wait a little before you ask for a new code; asking again and again rarely helps.
  • Try signing up in the Baidu Netdisk mobile app instead of the website. Some users report that it works when the website does not.
  • Do not buy a Baidu account or rent a number to receive the code. The account stays tied to that number, so you can lose it at any time.

After you sign up

An account solves the login, not the rest. On a share page you can now save files to your own Netdisk or download them, but larger files and folders still send you to the Chinese desktop app, and free accounts download slowly. See downloading without the client and why Baidu Pan is so slow.

Get one share without an account

If you only need the files from one link, an account is rarely worth the effort. Paste the link and its code into PanPull's link checker, check the size and price, and download the files in your browser. PanPull asks only for an email address and a password, and orders up to 150 MB are free. Use it only for files you have the right to download.

Paste your share link

Check the total size first. You will see the full price before checkout; checking a link does not charge you.
